UHC Accolades - Week of 9/25/20
As a campus community, UHC has much to celebrate!
The Education Department is proud to congratulate Dr. Mark Williams on his promotion from Principal of Archbishop Shaw High School to Associate Superintendent of Secondary Schools for the Archdiocese of New Orleans, beginning in the 2021-2022 school year. Dr. Williams is a graduate of our M. Ed in Educational Leadership and our Doctorate in Executive Leadership Program. Congratulations, Dr. Williams!
Dr. Patricia Prechter has been chosen by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) to be an ACEN Arbitrator . The term is a five-year term from 2020 to 2025. If a Nursing program is denied initial or continuing accreditation, the program has an appeal process which includes a review by a group of impartial peers. The last due process opportunity is for the appeals process to be reviewed by arbitrators to either affirm or reverse the appeal decision. Congratulations, Dr. Prechter!
Ms. Jurado and Nursing students helped administer the flu vaccine at VA Hospital. Way to go, Nursing students!
Dr. Armine Shahoyan, Professor of Business Administration, has accepted an invitation to become a Gilman International Scholarship Program Selection Panelist. The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program is a program of the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and supported in its implementation by the Institute of International Education (IIE). This program enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to our national security and economic prosperity. Congratulations, Dr. Shahoyan!
Please continue to send your UHC good news to firstname.lastname@example.org, and they will be included in the next Accolades newsletter. Thanks!
